Nicola Blease, our featured artist, has represented her own spiritual journey in the works you see here. She has recently returned from a missions trip in Uganda which has further influenced her work. She writes:

At some point in our lives,
each of us has experienced
confusion, sorrow and restlessness . . .
we feel disconnected from the hope that is within us.
In order to survive and grow beyond these difficulties,
we become pilgrims.
Traveling the valleys and mountains
shapes and molds us into stronger people.
Then there are other times, of course,
when we feel weary
and want to seek sanctuary . . .
a place where we can rest for a while.
