The Usual
Shenanigans
Figure Modeling Workshop
Sponsored by
Imagine 'Dat! (see also
news story), his seminar helps
you get hands-on with wonder! The idea behind the Imaginarium's
Make-It Take-It is simple. We give you the model, and all the
know-how, paint glue, putty and other supplies you need to put it
together and take it home. While you're working we'll share anecdotes
about the character your model is based on and share insight about a
biblical view of the hobby. Become an Imaginarium Model Citizen but
come early once we give 'em away they're gone.
Short
Subjects
Along with our Evening Film Features, the Imaginarium features a program
of short films, animation,
documentary features and special programming each year. Past Shorts Programs
have included the highly acclaimed documentary Healing By Killing,
classic Disney cartoons like Donald Duck in Mathemagic Land, and
Academy Award Winning animation such as The Cat Came Back, and
The Big Snit. The magic starts early at Imaginarium- don't get
caught short!
Film Discussion
Films can
be moving, thrilling, suspenseful, horrifying, funny and a hundred other
kinds of entertaining. They also often tell life-changing stories. Our
film discussions explore the powerful ideas that shape us and the films
we love and rediscover the source all that wonder flows from. Many of
our attendees have been with us since Imaginarium number one. Come prepared
to share but be careful you might never be the same again.
Prize
Give Away
Every year we yell "What do we do at Imaginarium before we watch
movies?!" And every year the crowd yells back, "Give Away Cool Stuff!" The only
question left is are you in that crowd? Because if you are you stand a
good chance to win Books Music, DVD's, Models, Posters, Collectable toys,
Computer Games, T-Shirts and more. In fact we give away so much cool stuff
it takes us four days to unload it all. Plus each and every winner gets
bonked on the head with a rubber chicken. You don't get that at your local
multi-plex.
Wrap
Party
Like to be
pelted with rubber poultry? What about a mouthful of earthworms? Our
Famous Final Fest Night Finale Wrap Party has seen us celebrate Christmas in July, flash our Pirate's
cutlasses as the sun sets on the Jolly Roger and sock-hop to Fifties favorites.
We've saluted Frank Capra, given H.G. Wells the raspberry and discoed
to kazoo laden melodies of the Bee-Gee's. Do you dare to come? The real
question is, Do you dare NOT to come. No true imagi-nite would miss it
